Ivan joined the Robel Lab as a graduate student in 2017 through the Translational Biology Medicine and Health Program. After graduating with a B.S. in Psychology from Roanoke College, he went on to receive his M.A. in Experimental Psychology from Radford University in 2015. His research at Radford University focused on the effects of developmental stressors on the manifestation of schizotypal symptoms.
In the Robel Lab, Ivan studies the effects of maternal immune activation (MIA) on the maturation and homeostatic functions of Astrocytes, and how this may relate to the etiology of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
