Ben joined the Robel Lab as a graduate student in 2016 through the Biological Sciences Department. He graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech in 2015. Ben began his research career as an undergraduate studying synthetic gene networks governing chemotaxis in bacteria.

 

In the Robel Lab, Ben studies intermediate filaments in astrocytes and their role in response to traumatic brain injury. He also teaches Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratories on the Blacksburg campus.
